Holidays determine which days are paid with the holiday surcharge and on which days an absence is not counted. You can view and manage them in Human Resources → Holidays and days off, by year.

Holiday sources

Filter the table by All, Country or Company. Half-day days off show the time from which they apply (for example, December 24 and 31 in Guatemala from 12:00).

Add a company day off

1

Go to Human Resources → Holidays and days off → Add day off

2

Enter the date and name

3

Branch (optional)

Limits the day off to a branch’s employees. Without a branch, it applies to the whole company.
4

Half day (optional)

Indicates the time from which it is a day off. Hours worked after that time are paid as holiday.
5

Paid

On by default. Clear it if the day off is unpaid (it is shown as Unpaid).

Exclude a national holiday

If the company works a national holiday as usual (by agreement or because it does not apply to its activity), use Exclude on that row. The holiday is shown as Excluded and that day is treated as a normal day. To undo it, delete the exclusion and the holiday applies again.
Adding, editing, excluding or deleting a holiday automatically recalculates attendance for that date. Days included in a processed or paid payroll do not change.

Effect on attendance

  • Not working: the day appears with the Holiday status and does not count as an absence.
  • Working: Worked on holiday status; the hours go to the holiday categories with their surcharge (see Labor rules).
  • A shift that crosses midnight into a holiday pays as holiday only the hours after 00:00.
Each year, compare the loaded calendar with your country’s official calendar (for example, moved holidays or decreed days off) and adjust it with company days off or exclusions.
