# Advance Payments

> Recording down payments received from customers before the invoice

Advance payments let you record deposits or advances that a customer hands over before the final invoice is issued.

## Features

* Record the advance with amount, date and customer.
* View the available advance balance per customer.
* Link the advance to the final sale when it is issued.

## How to use

Go to **Advance Payments → New Advance Payment**, select the customer, enter the amount and save. When you create the final sale, the advance is available to apply as a payment method.
