# User preferences

> Change the look of FileXpress and the interface language

Preferences customize how FileXpress looks and behaves **for you**. They do not affect the other users in the company.

## Interface layout

**1. Open Preferences**

Click the gear icon in the top bar.

**2. Choose the layout**

Under **Interface**, select the card for the look you prefer. The change is immediate and is confirmed with the **Preference saved** notice.

| Layout | Description |
| - | - |
| **Classic** | The traditional interface, with a blue top bar. |
| **Modern** | White top bar, rounded cards, and a single action color, as in the new sign-in screen. |

> The chosen layout is saved **in this browser**: if you sign in from another computer or browser, choose it again there.

## Language

The globe icon in the top bar switches the interface language between **Spanish** and **English**.
