# Job Titles

> Catalog of job titles and their hierarchy

Job titles make up the company's catalog of positions. They are assigned to each employee and define the hierarchical structure.

## Create a job title

**1. Go to Human Resources → Job Titles → New Job Title**

**2. Enter the job title name and a description**

**3. Select the Parent Position (optional)**

Indicates which position it reports to. For example, "Accounting Assistant" reports to "General Accountant".

**4. Save**

The job title is assigned from each [employee](https://docs.filexpress.app/en/docs/rrhh/empleados.md) record. The reporting hierarchy between people is visualized in the [Org chart](https://docs.filexpress.app/en/docs/rrhh/organigrama.md).
