# Transfers Between Branches

> Move inventory from one branch to another

Transfers let you move products from one branch's inventory to another. The destination branch must approve the transfer for the stock to be credited to its inventory.

## Transfer flow

```
Sucursal Origen → Crea la transferencia → [En tránsito]
Sucursal Destino → Recibe y aprueba → Stock acreditado
```

## Create a transfer

**1. Go to Inventory → Transfers → New Transfer**

**2. Select the origin branch and the destination branch**

**3. Add the products and quantities to transfer**

**4. Send the transfer**

Stock at the origin branch is left in transit (not available for sales).

## Receive a transfer (destination branch)

**1. Go to Inventory → Transfers**

The transfer appears with status **Pending**.

**2. Open the detail and verify the products and quantities**

**3. Approve the transfer**

Stock is credited immediately to the destination branch's inventory.

## Cost center

When completing a transfer you can indicate a **Cost center (optional)**. It is stored on the transfer for traceability and cost-by-center reports. Since inventory is a balance sheet account, it normally does not flow to the journal entry. See [Cost centers](https://docs.filexpress.app/en/docs/contabilidad/centros-de-costo.md).

## Transfer statuses

| Status | Description |
| - | - |
| **Pending** | Created, awaiting approval from the destination branch. |
| **In transit** | In process, stock has left the origin. |
| **Received** | Approved by the destination branch, stock credited. |
| **Cancelled** | The transfer was voided. |
