# Batches and Expiration Alerts

> Batch traceability and alerts for products nearing expiration

The batches module lets you control traceability of perishable products or products that require tracking by batch number and expiration date.

## Batch Management

Go to **Inventory → Batch Management** to see all registered batches.

For each batch you can view:

* Batch number.
* Product it belongs to.
* Inventory entry date.
* Expiration date.
* Stock available in that batch.

**Search** by batch number or product name.

## Expiration Alerts

Go to **Inventory → Batch Alerts** to see the batches that need attention.

> Batches whose date has passed but still have stock available.

> Review batch alerts regularly to avoid selling expired products or incurring losses from expiration.

## Recommended actions for a batch nearing expiration

1. **Sell** — prioritize selling that batch before it expires.
2. **Transfer** — move the units to another branch with higher turnover.
3. **Write off** — make an outbound adjustment if the product is no longer fit for sale.
