# Work Orders

> Technical service management with status tracking and conversion to an invoice

Work orders let you manage technical or field services: record the work performed, assign a technician, track the status, and convert it into an invoice when finished.

## Statuses and transitions

| Status | Description | Possible transitions |
| - | - | - |
| **Draft** | Just created, being prepared. | In Progress, On Hold |
| **In Progress** | Work underway. | On Hold, Finished |
| **On Hold** | Paused for some reason. | In Progress, Finished |
| **Finished** | Work completed. It can be invoiced. | — |

> [!WARNING]
>
> A finished order cannot go back to earlier statuses. Verify the completed work before marking it as finished.
